As the birthplace of the hot fudge sundae, C.C. Brown’s was a Hollywood landmark. Located at this site from 1929 to 1996, the shop was popular with celebrities who dropped in after movie premieres at the Chinese Theatre. Fans lined up outside C.C. Brown’s for hours waiting for stars like Joan Crawford to sign their autographs. Among the celebrities said to have indulged in the legendary sundaes were Jack Benny, Marlon Brando, Jackie Cooper, Clark Gable, Bob Hope, Barbara Stanwyck, and Lana Turner.
