7021 Hollywood Blvd.

On this site, from 1919 to 1984, stood the Garden Court Apartments. The magnificent Beaux Arts style building boasted two lavish ballrooms, a billiards room, tennis courts and a pool, with Persian-style carpets and baby grand pianos in every suite. Hollywood personalities who lived here included Louis B. Mayer (founder of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios); Mack Sennett (founder of Keystone Pictures Studio, famed producer of “Keystone Kops” comedies); silent film stars Lillian Gish and Mae Murray; Italian actor Rudolph Valentino; and silver screen idol John Barrymore.
