HISTORIC SIGN POLE
Guaranty Building
6331 Hollywood Blvd.
This Beaux Arts office building was where famous entertainment columnist Hedda Hopper was once headquartered. Built in 1923 on the corner of Ivar Avenue, it was one of several “palaces” of commerce along the Boulevard and was the second building in the area to meet city height limits. Charlie Chaplin and Cecil B. DeMille were investors in the building, which was designed by architects John C. Austin and Frederic M. Ashley.
