HISTORIC SIGN POLE
Janes House
6541 Hollywood Blvd.
Built in 1903, Janes House is one of the last remaining Victorian homes on Hollywood Blvd. Its style was typical of other early-1900s mansions once found along the Boulevard before the street became a bustling commercial district. From 1911 to 1926, the three Janes sisters ran the location as the prestigious Misses Janes School of Hollywood, which was attended by children of such famous movie personalities as Douglas Fairbanks, Cecil B. DeMille, Thomas H. Ince, Jesse L. Lasky, Noah Beery Jr., Jack Holt, and Charlie Chaplin. After being declared a landmark in 1982, Hollywood Heritage helped in the preservation and restoration of the house.
