Music Box Theatre

First known as the Music Box Theatre, it opened in 1926 and first specialized in musical comedy, featuring silent film stars such as Bessie Barriscale and Helen Jerome Eddy. In 1944, the theatre was converted to screen movies and renamed The Pix Theatre. The following year, it became a live theatre again and was renamed The Guild Theatre. In 1954, movies returned to what was now the New Fox Theatre, though it was renamed again to become the Hollywood Pix Theatre in 1976. In 1985, it returned to live theatre as The Fonda Theatre named after actor Henry Fonda, and opened with Twelve Angry Men, starring Charlton Heston.
