HISTORIC SIGN POLE
Security Trust and Savings Building
6381-6385 Hollywood Blvd.
Built in 1921, this imposing Italian Renaissance Revival structure with Romanesque window arches was designed by the father and son team of John and Donald Parkinson. It became a power center of the entertainment industry. Wyatt Earp, W.C. Fields, Charlie Chaplin, the Three Stooges, and Lana Turner are said to have kept accounts here; likewise, Cecil B. DeMille obtained his studio financing from the bank, and Howard Hughes kept his jewel collection in its safes.
